The Aspin Guide:
From Street Life to Home Life

A Special Webinar for Aspin Lovers

Date: May 28, 2026
Time: 7PM - 8:30PM

Registration Fee: P500

Understand your Aspin beyond labels, myths, and “Aspin lang kasi yan.”

Aspins are intelligent, resilient, sensitive, resourceful, and deeply shaped by the worlds they come from.

For many Aspins, the transition from street life to home life is not as simple as being “rescued” and brought indoors. They may be moving from a life of freedom, survival, unpredictability, and constant decision-making into a home where the rules, routines, expectations, and boundaries are completely new.

This webinar is for anyone who wants to understand Aspins more deeply, not just as pets, but as dogs with histories, needs, instincts, learning experiences, and individual personalities.

Originally presented before international dog behavior professionals at the L.E.G.S. in Motion Conference 2025 in New Hampshire, U.S., this talk has been specially adapted for pet owners, rescuers, fosters, and Aspin lovers who want practical, compassionate, and science-informed ways to support the dogs in their care.

Licensed Family Dog Mediator & IAABC-Accredited Dog Trainer

Hi, I’m Cheryl, founder of The Dog Tango!

My work focuses on helping dogs and their humans build better relationships through welfare-centered, rewards-based, and dog-centric approaches. I use frameworks such as the L.E.G.S. Model, Total Welfare, and modern behavior science to help families understand dogs beyond obedience and surface behavior.

I have 2 Aspin foster fails and they have changed me for the better, teaching me that there's more to it than training commands and being present in the moment is what makes a true difference.

In this webinar we will cover

What Dog Professionals Are Saying

I had the opportunity to present this talk to dog behavior professionals from around the world—and I’m so grateful for how it was received.

Here’s what they had to say:

"So beautifully said, Cheryl. I've never really found the "3-3-3 rule" ideal - certainly wasn't my experience from adopting a greyhound from a racing environment, and anecdotally haven't seen it aways be that way for other adopted dogs from all walks of life. But this is what I'll always think of now when I counsel clients. This sums it up better than arbitrary timelines. Thank you."
